Do you ever get that itch? The itch to wager, to head to the nearest gambling house, to locate a high stakes casino game of Texas hold’em, to sit at a Chemin de fer table for hours on end. I like that itch. And I love to scratch it.
I also really like to watch people today bet. No 2 poker faces seem alike. When I gamble I like to believe I put on a poker face that is impassable. Except I know I’ve particular actions. For one, the only time I smoke cigarettes is when I bet on poker or Black jack. And then I smoke. Except I smoke regardless of whether I am winning or losing, whether I’ve a excellent hand or bad.
I once wagered in the weekly poker game. The casino game was always five card draw. There was a guy who played with us each and every week who generally wore a hat. When he was given a beneficial hand, unconsciously, he would begin touching and betting with his hat. Pointless to say, he in no way won.
The very best poker player I ever saw was a gentleman who produced a lot more movements and gestures at a poker table than anyone I had ever met. He was impressive in the way he dressed. Constantly an high priced suit and tie, footwear shined and nails trimmed. He was diligent in this manner. And he was constantly brushing his pants or rubbings his hands or stacking his chips in tidy little piles.
I use to examine him for long periods of time. I would tried to see if I could spot his tell. Selecting fuzz off his jacket- did this mean he was bluffing? Arranging his chips in a short pile – did this mean he had a beneficial hand?
Several years later I bumped into him in a bar in Chi town and we had a beverage. I asked him if he were aware of all those actions he manufactured or if they had been subconscious. He told me that just about every single thing he did at a poker table was deliberate. He said that everyone is generally checking out everybody else’s poker face. They’re attempting to notice the the tell.
So his program was to provide them lots to believe about. His reasoning was if they had been pondering about him picking a piece of lint off his jacket and what it meant they certain were not pondering about their cards.
His program was distraction. And it worked for him. In no way give up a process that functions for you.
