Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the last table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest gamblers anywhere in the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He often plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is broke, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the min buy in.
Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest players in the world might just be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen playing online poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in high stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money games?
