Online poker has become world famous lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years numerous types on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with 21 than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the different gamblers acquire five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the bank’s initial card, you have to either make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s value is equal to your original wager, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes instantly to the bank. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with a sum on par with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays out chips equal to your ante and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
