Internet poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no concealment or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier declares "No further wagers." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the different players receive 5 cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning ante, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your ante goes immediately to the house. After the wager is the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, plus a figure on par with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The dealer pony’s up cash even with your ante and set expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
