Literally countless of people want to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more well known "great players" of poker. Even though "nice" is connected with their names when you are at a poker table it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the competition!

Daniel Negreanu

In Two Thousand and Four, his tourney winnings amounted to more than $4.4 million and he won two highly admired awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In February 2006 he was chosen Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel still has the humility to talk to his fans about how they will be able to improve their own game.

Howard Lederer

Referred to as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an instructional poker video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co holding a tournament poker show for Fox. As of Two Thousand and Five, his complete life time winnings surpass $2.7 million.

Scotty Nguyen

Scott is 1 of the most active players in professional poker and between Two Thousand to Two Thousand and Four he ranked in the money in excess of 100 events. He is noted for saying "yeah baby" during poker games and also coined the term "that’s poker baby" when referring to a particularly bad beat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career winnings are just about $6 million.

Chris Ferguson

Chris has won five WSOP titles with 2 of his successes happening in 2003. Has the alias "Jesus" because of his characteristic long hair and beard, along with his ability to throw playing cards quick enough to cut through pickles and bananas. As of Two Thousand and Five his total poker tournament winnings exceeded $5 million.
