Annie Duke may not have earned her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she is still one of the most feared poker competitors at the cash games at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha high-low.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker go wild following a huge win at the tables, Annie heads home and becomes "mom" to her four children. She was born in New Hampshire into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who educated her how to play the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has captured her share of difficult tables, including knocking out Howard a few times along the way. They’re both competitors that have the capability to acquire the big cash and do so with a smile.

Annie is a tough competitor at any poker table considering that she is a real poker player, but it is a bit more than simply being strong at the game. Mrs. Duke is very intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she majored in English and Psychology.

When you are seated across from Annie at the poker table you’ll see Annie is there to compete in the game and she starts "sizing" you up from the time you join the game table. If you can not gamble like a Champion, then do not waste your time.

Earning over three million dollars in tournament competitions, Mrs. Duke became a adviser to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to sharpen his techniques and develop into a force at the tables.

You might glimpse her at the Bellagio, you’ll notice her on the television and you may even play against her in a web poker game, but do not count on a simple win. Except of course you’re a camp-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. However, it’d be fun to mention you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
